Oil Control Method for Skin! OCM

So... the OCM. Oil Control Method. You put OIL on your FACE. Thats right. Weird right? A little scary? Totally.

In my attempt to go "green" and use more natural products (I'm writing this with an egg and coconut oil hair mask in--stay tuned for that) I wanted to look into a more natural skin remedy and regime!

I've never had amazing skin, I broke out a lot in high school and it sort of cleared up after I graduated HOWEVER there is the occasional break out... which sucks. I don't know about you but if you ever had acne it can make you want to stay inside and hide from the world. Dramatic, yep.

What you will need:
Castor Oil
EVOO (extra virgin olive oil)
plastic bottle
washcloth
warm running water

Oily Skin: Try a blend of 30% Castor Oil to 70% Castor Oil.
Balanced Skin: Try a blend of 20% Castor Oil to 80% Castor Oil.
Dry Skin: Try a blend of 10% Castor Oil to 90% Castor Oil.

A little skeptical....

Directions:
1. Rub the oils on your face (about the size of a quarter) until you feel your skin saturated-yes it will do an amazing job at removing makeup! It will also remove other impurities in your skin, as well as water proof mascara!
2. Let the water run until steamy warm/hot (don't burn yourself) and put your washcloth under.
3. Hold the washcloth over your face as it cools down (the steaming effect will open your pores and allow the castor oil to do it's magic).
4. Rinse the washcloth and gently wipe off the oil on your face.
5. check out your skin--should look more supple and feel amazingly soft!

*Note-- I noticed an immediate difference within 5 minutes and the next morning I could barely see my acne scars! Also it made my skin tone completely even. I can't wait to see the difference within a week!

Your skin is the largest organ in/on your body which naturally produces oil. When we use harsh chemicals to strip the natural oil from our skin, what does it do? It compensates and produces MORE oil. Many people will complain of oily or dry skin after using a harsh product, such as Acne Free or Proactive and retinol based products, " The booming skin care industry would have you believe the same with their claims of the need to rid your skin of oil completely and apply burning chemicals in order to avoid these imperfections. Modern society has been so strongly influenced by these marketing claims that some find themselves washing the delicate and easily-inflamed tissue of their facial skin with "grease cutting" or "antibacterial" dish and hand soap only to find that their skin condition worsens." from: http://www.theoilcleansingmethod.com

but keep reading.. it gets better: products strip the oil out of our skin, leaving our largest organ trying to repair itself by replacing the oil stripped away. This leaves us in a cycle of being tight and dry followed by the inevitable oil slick. Each time we strip the oil away, our skin over-compensates for the lack of moisture by creating more oil. On top of the drying effects, these products are highly-scented. Fragrance is one of the top skin irritants and strangely enough, even the so-called "unscented" products usually contain fragrance. See for yourself and check the labels. Dry, irritated skin replaced by oily skin, inflamed and trapping debris?

I'm pretty excited about this... after reading a TON of reviews and finally saying "why not" I am LOVING the results so far! and it's only day 2! stay posted for my before and afters in one week!
