So Corey is laying here and we just finished watching Prince of Egypt. I love love love that movie. I don't care how old you are, it's amazing. While he is fast asleep I just let my mind wander. Without realizing it I started to reflect on my health/fitness journey and what beach body has done for me. I thought of the opportunity it has presented to me and what and how it has changed so many lives. For those of you who don't know beach body is-it's a company that has at home DVDs for workouts, supplements, unlimited connection and support. It's a community of people who want to end the trend of obesity and help you reach your potential. Anyway this post isn't necessarily about that. I was thinking that we all have the same opportunities when we wake till we go to bed. We have the choice to make today count and what we are willing to do to make it count. The IDEA sounds simple, but putting ideas into actions is another story.
Just because you have the tools, skills and knowledge of something does not mean you will succeed, you will succeed when you put those 3 things to USE in your day to day lives. I am discovering that this can be the hardest thing to accept because change causes you to explore out of your comfort zone, but you will be glad you did! We all have the opportunity to be something amazing, someone to look up to and we all face obstacles. I say we because you are not alone in this. There are days where feeling defeated can be consuming, that picking yourself up for making a few mistakes (ahem.. 1 too many pieces of birthday cake and 3 missed workouts in my case) seems impossible. It's not. It really isn't. I workout because mainly what it does for my attitude and my emotional need. It makes me happy and keeps me feeling alert, alive and strong. Learning from your mistakes is what keeps you from making them again. I will say this again, this is one of the HARDEST lessons to learn. We do something we know is not always good for us, but because we want to. Why? We aren't perfect, we give in, it seems relatively harmless. I have to tell myself be strong, and I will tell you BE STRONG. Don't give in or give up. Hang in there, life calls for change. Life is about the obstacles, learn and grow and prosper. Help other people, reach out and let them know you care and that they are not alone. If we tried to do everything by ourselves, we would never grow or succeed.
Lean on your family, your friends, your spouse or significant other. Tell them that you need their help it keeping you accountable and moving forward. I have to do this myself. I have no family here in Florida besides my husband and dogs of course, but there are days where I tell myself to hang in there because I miss my family and my home so much. I know that God has big plans for Corey and I and he has them for you too.
So Happy Sunday to everyone and hope you rested and are ready to take on a new and wonderful week ahead of us!
Very wise words Abby, I miss you! You rock!
